A Summer Wedding Celebration Near Malmesbury
One of the greatest joys of being a Cotswolds wedding Celebrant is being invited into a couple’s story and helping them celebrate it in a way that feels completely personal. In the height of summer 2026, I had the absolute privilege of leading Rosie and Calum’s wedding ceremony at Calum’s beautiful family home, just outside the historic market town of Malmesbury in the heart of the Cotswolds.
The setting could not have been more perfect. Surrounded by rolling countryside, beautiful gardens and the people who meant the most to them, it was the ideal location for a relaxed and heartfelt outdoor wedding ceremony.
I was delighted to be recommended to Rosie and Calum by the wonderful wedding planner Haley, who I have had the pleasure of working alongside on several occasions. As always, Haley ensured everything ran seamlessly, allowing the couple to simply enjoy every magical moment of their day.
A Wedding Celebration Full of Meaning
Although Rosie and Calum completed the legal registration of their marriage in London the previous December, surrounded by close family and friends during a wonderful Christmas celebration, they knew they wanted something much more personal to truly mark the beginning of married life.

From the very first notes of the entrance music, it was clear this was going to be an unforgettable ceremony.
As Rosie walked down the aisle with her father, they were welcomed with huge cheers and smiles from every guest. The atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter and emotion, immediately setting the tone for the rest of the ceremony. As a Celebrant, I find moments like these incredibly special because every ceremony develops its own unique personality.
Throughout the ceremony, there was laughter, happy tears, and so much love shared between everyone present.
The day was beautifully captured by the incredibly talented photographer Tom Wyatt, whose style perfectly reflected the celebration’s atmosphere.
The brilliant Hannah Warmisham Weddings was the second shooter for the day, supporting Tom.
Their Love Story Began at Drama School
One of my favourite parts of creating any ceremony is discovering the stories that make each couple unique.
Rosie and Calum met during their very first year at drama school. Fate intervened when they were paired together for a duologue, playing a beekeeper proposing to a scientist. Looking back, it almost felt as though life was quietly writing the first chapter of their own love story.
One of the most thoughtful details of the day was that their confetti cones were made from the original pages of that very script. It was such a meaningful touch and a beautiful reminder that sometimes life’s greatest love stories begin in the most unexpected ways.
When Calum proposed, he brought everything full circle.
Disguising the occasion as a birthday surprise, he returned Rosie to the place where it had all begun and once again recited the opening and closing lines from that same drama school script before asking her to marry him.
There was not a dry eye when I shared this story during their ceremony.

Including Meaningful Wedding Rituals
Rosie and Calum wanted their ceremony to honour their Celtic heritage, so together we included two beautiful symbolic rituals.
As well as a traditional handfasting ceremony, one of the oldest wedding traditions in Britain. As ribbons were gently wrapped around their joined hands, they made promises to one another, symbolising their lives being woven together in marriage.
They also chose to include the beautiful Scottish Quaich Ceremony, often known as The Loving Cup. The Quaich represents trust, unity and friendship. It is held with both hands, meaning it can only ever be given rather than taken, making it a wonderful symbol of generosity, commitment and the joining not only of two people, but of two families.
These symbolic moments added even more depth and meaning to an already emotional ceremony and reflected the values that Rosie and Calum wanted to carry into married life together.
